Hi Kev,

where have you been lost all this time?

I'm 100% with YOU on this one!

A little thing everybody is over seeing here is the RPM.

Sure, then less restriction at the exhaust then better!????!

BUT at what R P M are we assuming that???

The above statement is true for high revving gassers NOT our slow CTD's!

To build boost and build it quickly some restriction is needed. Sure this very same restriction will harm at high RPM's, the CTD revs only 3500... ...

Marco.

wow, I am stumped!

I looked at the BOMB's you listed, and you should be putting out more power than me.

I do most of my driving at sea level with the occasional trip to 7000'.

Here is the funny thing, when my ETH was stock with the addition of a boost module and elbow (yes I know you have an auto) I could hit 30 psi under a big load in 5th and 6th gear. When I added the 275's and the Puck I broke my boost gage.

I guess the difference here is elevation. Since your 3" works, run with it.

WAZZZZZZUP???????

Kev how did the 3" work. Have you thought of bring ing the 3" down to the first 4" joint and use a 3 to 4. ????? Inquiring minds want to know.

FWIW a local w/ 2k1 auto installed 4" Jardine. EGT's still high but no loss of performance. Then replaced HY-35 with HX-35. Big time turbo lag, smoke, loss of low end power, and egt's unchanged.

You still running the "TM"

I'm really confused. I also live in Colorado. I have heard the same thing Kevin heard about diesels needing backpressure. It did not prove true for me. I went with the 4" magnaflow, with a straight through muffler, and I have better performance. I will say that it seems to smoke a little more. However that could be due to warmer weather.

Big A
