2006 Great Lakes Dragaway Diesel Drags Schedule

July 4th weekend (i'll be staying Friday Evening thru Tues. Morn. ) I'll call the campground to see how many open spaces are available. I will see if we can rent like 10 spaces in a group and will let you know.

Hope everyone can make it. Watching fireworks on the sand dunes overlooking lake Michigan should be AWESOME!!! Not to mention seeing Chaz's truck on the drag strip (at the dunes).

Make arrangements, i want to see EVERYONE there!

I'll have to see whats going on that weekend maybe the 64 could be done

Holiday weekends are busy up there

I'm still thinking about your truck curtis

john i appreciate your thoughts, just do what works for you. i'll lower the price but i'll need the mirrors, trans pan, and some other misc off of it. let me know, i'm seriously thinking of another truck.

Ian them damn trees just sprout up too quick... ... Where do you plan on staying ??

John i need to know about the camp site ASAP, i need to reserve sites, and theres a $50 refundable ( at the time of check out) site fee.

Bill, anyone else ???

If anything this will be just a fun relaxing weekend (if we can't get onto the dunes)

Curtis

All of my buddies and I go on memorial and labor day weekends for the the last couple of years. Even when they run out of dune ready vouchers you can just get pulled on the dunes by someone with a voucher and your in free. It's easier anyway. I'm in as long as nothing comes up. We were planing on going anyway with my friends jeeps. we could still get camp sites at the state park and at the party campground (forget the name) even on saturday night Last year but resevations would be a good idea. Busy weekends are the best you get to watch all of the idiots break stuff (usually my roomate and his 99 TJ). Would be good to get to do some mopin up at the drag strip with a bunch of cummins. :-laf Jdakin I'll have to get those springs from ya so I can be rolin on 40's by then.

They're only 1. 25 miles from the dunes.

I'm calling tomorrow to reserve my spot and my older bro's spot. If anyone calls with reservations tell them you would like next to the Chamberlains site.

John just cancell everything else that you may have going on and reserve your spot.

Ian do you want to put up a tent on our spot?? It's only $5 per night per person.

Curtis

Not sure about other campgrounds, but if you planned on staying in a tent i beleive you can stay on our site. Call the campground and ask if you can stay on the the Chamberlain's site.

Bluthundr you're more than welcome to come by for a beer. Thinking about buying a keg, my older bro is part fish.

Computer is messed up, so i won't be back on for a while probably.

There is a campground called Silver City, which is a little rowdier than the rest. Jellystone, and the others have gone to very resricted "family" type settings the last few years. They are all pretty strict about who comes and goes on the property. I'm pretty sure they all charge per person, not per site...

There is also Silver Hills, Hideaway, and I think some State Park camping spots there as well. Check out this link for some park info. Particularly the "rules" which get more strictly enforced every year. Practice saying "yes officer, of course it has a flame arrestor on it!"

Do they allow quads at the dunes?

Bikes, Jeeps, buggies, and I've even seen snowmobiles on the sand. BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A FLAME ARRESTOR OR THEY WILL NOT LET YOU ON. A few years ago they started strict enforcement of noise level and flame arrestor presence, so beware.

Im heading there this weekend with a few friends from work. Im going to try a 8paddle on my bike and see how she does.

Flame arrestor is bs, the sand isnt going to catch fire... . maybe the drift-wood. oh well I cant do much about it.
