Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 4" Pipe

I installed a MBRP 4" exhaust on my 95. The down pipe from the turbo is tight against the liner on the firewall. What is that liner, will it burn? How do I get the pipe off the firewall, did I cut the pipe between the down pipe and the muffler to short? Thanks... ... Buck.

You might have cut it too short, as that will pull the rest fo the system to the rear and try to pluu the down pipe "up". Loosen it up and see if it falls off the firewall. Also remember when you tighten the flange at the turbo you have some adjustment there to go up down etc too. The firewall cover is pretty tough stuff, shouldn't bother it anyway but check out the fit and see if it will drop off of it.

I ended up having to cut the liner on mine. The truck cost me too much for me to find out the flash/burn point of the liner...

Turbo elbow

I had to loosen the clamp on the turbo elbow and roll it just a smidge and then plenty of clearance.

4" down pipe:

I could not adjust the down pipe off the firewall liner because the pipe also has the hanger on it at the rear of the trans mount. I took the pipe off the truck, and with a box cutter cut the liner away to give the pipe clearance. The liner was half to three quarters a inch thick! Reinstalled the down pipe, now it has plenty of room around it. I can stick my fingers between the pipe and the firewall. Vssman had a good point, don't want a fire smoldering away.
