Dave - It's about time you get rid of that silly lock collar and stock converter.

Chris - Whenever someone told me that I couldn't do something that I really wanted to do, I not only did it, but better than anyone could have expected. A guy cant get anywhere in life if he always listens to others. Sometimes you just have to do your own thing.

Ok you guys..... now... Marty is one of those "other" kind of 1st Genner's..... Now I have to admit that both he and wildman have a rocking setup under the hood on the old body style... BUT... . it ain't no VE pump ... ... so... they're both on "good conduct hall passes"... ;):D

pastor bob... .

Yeah... hey Mike, if anyone said you couldn't kick tail with that truck they're words must've come back an bit 'em in the rear!

Hey, when you gonna give me a ride??? :D

I'll let ya ride with me when I hit 500! :D :-laf

You girls and your small toys :p Bob, what are you talking about... Marty and I still have our VE pumps, there just being used to help supply some fuel to a REAL pump like the stupid pump :D

Seriously, 500hp on the VE will happen, its just a matter of time.

And hopefully, I'll be one of the people who figures out how.

So what's gonna blow? I just hit 40 psi today, do I need intercooler boots and stuff like that?

What's gonna break first?

Boy look at this, I see what he's been doing while lurking away. Don't think I've heard of him since someone wrecked into the back of his truck, Marty did you get some new rims after that?

Bill,

Yes, They replaced two of the alcoa wheels she hit me so hard... also sheared the pin on the spring lift block & bent my rear end housing!

Do you think she got a surprise when she came around the corner in her new Mercedes?:--)

Dodge truck... no body or frame damage... 2003 Mercedes... written off!Oo.

My take on the VE pump is that if there's a better one available & it bolts on & it's sold by Cummins, why not use it?

Do you guys all have stock First Gen Turbo's? How about stock air intake? What's the difference between installing twins or going to a better injection pump?

I love stock trucks & I love restoring vintage Dodge trucks to original condition but lets face it... most of our trucks have had numerous modifications away from stock.

If Cummins makes it, it's fair. I actually think the twins are the bigger crime!:D :p

My whole issue with the VE pump is not the power it can make but the longevity of the pump once you finally get 500HP out of it.

My VE pump had the shut-off solenoid fail almost immediately after turning the pump up & it only had 40K original miles on it.

I think it would be wiser having a mild P pump than an extreme VE pump... . besides... when that VE pump surpasses 500HP the P7100 will be surpassing 1000HPOo.

Have a look at the picture at this link... who says I'm not Mopar Loyal:D

Marty is as loyal as they come!!!!!

That stupid pump is capable of making a lot more than 1000hp if you can burn all the fuel it puts out. :D

Yep! It's what's used on the pull'n tractors! They go 'way beyond 1000. Won't see any rotary pumps at this level of competition.

Personally, I'd wrather have a p7100... I don't like the VE for the same reasons. Logevity is a crapper.

But then, if I'm gonna do that... why not go all the way and get a p-pumped 24v like Wildman??? :D

Chris,

Lets go for it!

Only thing hold'n us back is the law... ... ... . of supply and demand... .....

I "demand" more ponies, but there just ain't the "supply" to fund it:mad: :{

You got that right CB... It wasn't just a common street corner Mark... I set her up at a high end escort service.

They make better bucks there.

You can't pay for twins & Stupid pumps at $50 a crack! Ha Ha!

You guys are really bad LOL :D

Been a while since I have been on here, what a down turn into the gutter..... how to maximize annual bomb potential through exploitation of said "partners" LMAO :)

Anyhow, who is running Don M's EDM's and what is the best way to contact Don M these days? I have no wife or woman to pimp right now, so the p-7100/staged turbo bit is on the back burner, but I would like to upgrade injectors.

Thanks,

Russell

Chris-

I got to thinking while driving acorss KS last night:rolleyes:... . You mentioned a drop in RPM at idle, indicating a higher pop pressure than stock. So, like with the PODs, it has a net retard on timing. Try advancing it a degree or two, (about 1/32-1/16") and see what that does. You stilll got the Wonder pump on there? That could account for SOME of his smoke, guys. He's taking after his older brother (me), and jury riggin stuff left and right. Dont see his smoke and say, "oh no, they smoke too. " Same for my EDMs- I have 280K on the original pump, so I'm sure there are some issues there, as well as the air filter and fuel filter nearing the end of their useful lives.

Rusell-

I got my EMDs through Rip Rook. Call him and he'll set you up.

The smoke at idle is white, so I think you're correct about the timing. I'll be adjusting that tomorrow.

The 4" is done guys, so check tomorrow (monday) for a link to pics!!! :D

The Con O is in the mail, and I'm going to contact Bob tomorrow (if he's at work) about a replacement for the wonder pump! :D

how to
