Has anyone compared the new front springs from Superlift and Skyjacker and noticed any quality differences? Any reason to pick the Superlift over the Skyjacker lift?

I'm still looking for 9-10" rims with some positive setback (20mm?) instead of the 8" factory wheels.

Here's some wheels that fit you're description. They're the only ones I know of with this offset. One problem might be that they are probably lug-centric and not hub-centric. I'm not sure of this though. I'm going to contact AE wheel to see if they can tell me.

Series 114

Series 133

I'm looking for 17's, thats what makes it tough. 20mm offsets the width enough that flares will still cover the tires and it recovers a little turning radius. The Series 133's do have the look.

35-12. 50-17's fit on stock wheels, though they are the absolute minimum width that will (8"). I already have my summer/winter/highway meats, I just want to keep them mounted all the time.

As for Lug Centric, is there really an issue if you get your wheels balanced on the truck??

As for differences in the kits, I myself selected the Superlift over Skyjacker because I wanted longer swaybar links, I've aleady broken two factory links, instead of using the same links and lowering the swaybar. The pre-load is the same on either kit (0), but the extended links bend more before breaking.

I have a site I visit that on one sharp/steep corner pushes one wheel to the stop and the other hangs with only the shock keeping the wheel up, first link that broke with such a bang I thought was a shock snapping and that the sping would go flying off the truck. 315's on a 2" lift rub the wheel wells hard on this corner.

I also didn't want an add a leaf on the back and wanted to retain my air bags too.

... . Still waiting on my Bilsteins... ... . waiting..... waiting..... waiting... .

every lift company is snagging the bilsteins so if you want them seperatly you have to wait till december unless you have a major connection somewhere.

Ive just ordered the tuff Country 6" kit should be here next week. Was going to go superlift 6" but a Shop here said the springs were flimsy. So opted for tuff country. Retain factory springs,Kind of like the leveling kit set up. Clears 37 x 12. 50 by tuff country BFG MT"s going on 17x9 Eagle 101"s. I went this way so wouldnt have to worry about spring sag and would keep the full 6 inches in front.

Ordered my Superlift 4" rock crawler with Bilsteins about 2 weeks ago from 4wheelparts.com. They said the kit is being held up because of the Bilsteins. According to 4wheelparts, they said the kit should ship complete direct from Superlift sometime around the beginning of June.

I'll let you guys know when I get them.

Funny comment... . I had the 4" Tuff Country on order but cancelled after doing more research. The spacer kits really do stink and are the cheap way out. Go for the better Superlift kit!!!

I could have gotten the Tuff for around $600 delivered by now. I cancelled that for the $1450 4" rock crawler with Billsteins which by the way is on back order.

I believe its worth the wait!!

I agree. I have the 6" superlift and love i love the look of the big front coil springs and could'nt imagine looking at a 6" spacer. It has got to affect the drive ability some how it just dosen't seem right. I also have been told the tuff contry wasn't a very good lift...

DAVE.

Another option

Hello guys,

I considered a lift kit like the Skyjacker system myself until i rode in the T-rex truck. The offroad perfomance of this truck was amazing. The first thing he did on the demo ride was attack a 8 inch curb at a 45 degree angle at 30 mph. It ate the curb for lunch. He said that he loves that one because of the looks on the faces of the passengers as they brace for impact :D present company included:rolleyes: Kent really knows his stuff and makes a system that performes. If you want to get an education on how syspension works you need to get a big cup of coffee, lock yourself into a room for three hours and read a thread called "Racing syspension is here" on this forum

I choose the Bilstein system as my wife wanted it to ride better on the street because of a 3000 mile trip we are taking in june. I was amazed at how the truck performes both on the street and in the dirt.

After I installed it i met up with Kent and went for a test spin (me driving) we were doing around 30 mph down a dirt road and came upon a washed out section where water had flowed yesterday. There were 3 dips that were about 6 - 8 inches deep and high spots inbetween them. I instinctively got off the gas and started to go for the brake and Kent said "you dont need to slow down. " So i picked up the throttle a little bit and we went thru this like nothing. Truck just ate it up. Infact, i had a large glass of water that was 3/4 full in the cup holder and didn't spill a drop :D

Is $2300 (2000 + 300 for the rear minipack) a lot of money? you bet. But, I am willing to bet anyone here on this forum $1000 that if you buy this system (including rear minipack) you will not take advantage of his 100% satisfaction warrantee.

It is just that good.

and it looks good too. See the pics in my readers rigs

Best regards

Diesel Dan

dan is correct so im going to talk to kent and see if he can make my 4 inch superlift better, meaning put his leaf pack and maybe get some shocks made for my lift. well see how it goes.
