Just wanted some advise about exhaust systems for my 04. 5 Which size gives the best deep growl. Don't want to loud, just Deep. Should I go staight piped with the 4" or 5", or does the muffler sound better? I love my 95 5", but don't want the new one that loud. Also who has the best systems out there for the money.

I have the magnaflow thats almost 5''. It has a 4'' muffler with 5'' flanges. It is not very loud until you hammer it,then it will wake up anybody driving next to you!!! O. D. at about 2400 rpm has a very big rig sound, makes me glad i traded my HEMI in for every time i hammer my right foot down!!!!

5 inch is useless unless making big H. P. You already have a full 4 inch. Change mufflers and save the coin. You can get all the tone/noise you want this way.

rumor has it that, with the 5", unless you are making more than 500 HP, you will actually lose some power with that system. Also, the 5" is supposed to be louder than the 4".

I believe, just replacing the 4" muffler (only) & keeping the rest of the 4" piping would be the best, cheapest way to go.

I have the stock 3. 5" on my truck. The muffler and resonator somehow made it's way into the dumpster though. :D

I have 5" straight pipe exhaust. I love the sound but I do not like the interior drone! :D

I agree with bronco -- Love my 5", the drone sucks when you're trying to have a conversation though. The 4" and 5" straight pipe are both very loud outside the truck, but the 5" is definately a deeper tone. Maybe a 5" with a Donaldson? dunno... .

I kept my stock 4" pipe with a direct replacement muffler and the cat just up and vanished! Muffler didn't cost much, and I had the muffler shop delete my cat for $45. It's loud out side, I like loud, and a great idle sound!; but you can talk over it easily with the windows up. I'd say it's about perfect. (for me at least) Plus with the AFE stage 2, you get that nice turbo whine, it's a good balance.

Ive been looking at different exhaust sysetms and the cheapest one I found was at rpmoutlet.com They have a 5 inch turbo-back aluminized system for $325 made by MOTOBLUE, has anyone tried this setup? This weekend at ATS in Denver I heard a 04 that was straight piped (stock minus the muffler) and it sounded really cool.

I had a 5" on mine and spent more money trying to kill the drone than I did on the system. It is sitting outside of my shop collecting rust at this point.

Even my factory 4" straight piped the entire way is annoying while towing. Runs a lot cooler, sounds GREAT outside, but I see a magnaflow in my future...

if I had a 3rd gen, I would just straight pipe the factory system... sounds awesome, it's cheap, and the interior resonance is very little compared to a 2nd gen w/ aftermarket 4" straight pipe... and a TON less than aftermarket 5" straight pipe!!
