4-wheel drive sucks!!!!

As Far as Design problems Dodge did us all a Diservice when they did away with anykind of Front axle Disconnect and the front drive components turn all the time.

In my opinion, I feel just the opposite. Our '05 4wd has never failed to go, in or out of 4wd, ever. No delay either. . Just pull the t-case shifter to 4wd, and instant 4wd.



Unlike my '98 12v, you had to kinda be rolling, kinda turning, and wait for the light on the dash to come on.



The '98 got about 18-23mpg, the '05 gets about 18-23.

Growing a bit weary

This thread is beginning to wander. The originator said (quote) 4-wheel drive sucks (unquote), which says more about who wrote it than the drive. It takes a bit of learning to figure out what you can and can't do in 4WD. 4WD or AWD won't solve every problem and you can stick anything, given the right set of circumstances. OTOH, four wheels pulling will beat two any day when the going gets rough, which means slick and icy. Tread makes a difference too, but technique is something that must be learned. Finally, if a person doesn't have common sense nothing will help him. Having said that, I'm outta here.

Too true... Even tanks can get stuck. That's always interesting to see.
