Was cutting wood out in the pasture today and I ran over a pretty good sized stick, got up into the underside of my truck. :( Once we were done cutting I saw a 2 - 3' rubber line hanging down. :--) It's connected on the passanger side onto the front axle, but it's disconnected at the other end. The rubber line still has the attachment tab hooked to it and the end that came apart has a small white connection tab on the inside. (where it came unplugged from) For the life of me we cannot find out where that came disconneted from... . I would think that somehow it would connect to the 4X4 tranfer case, but it doesn't reach that far. My buddy thought maybe it connects somewhere up near the engine where all the other vaccum lines are connected. After we were done we had to back hay wagons in for the night and my 4 wheel drive low seemed to work just fine? Any help would be greatly appreciated as always... Jeff in Ohio :)

It is most likely the vent line for the front axle's CAD system. This line goes up the right side and mounts to the inner fender well, there is suppose to be a small end piece installed to keep it free of dirt and debris. To see where it goes, remove the air box it makes it easier. Good luck

Center Axle Disconnect? -i'm winging that one but thats the function it serves. You would have had All of your 4WD capabilities from the transfer case, but your front axle is rendered useless from a pulling standpoint. That actuator connects the passenger side axle stub to the Diff when in 4wd so that both tires turn. When unlocked, the Diff and spyder gears are all that turn under force. It eliminates the need for locking hubs.
