is 4 wheel steering going to be one of the "surprises" in 05? ive heard many different things and this one would be really nice... ive driven a gmc denali with it and it is really quite remarkable. :)

I need that like I need a hole in the head. They should be working on a lift pump that is worth a darn. Maybe a true crew cab would be nice. How about some more seating options, captains chairs, or a seat that feels good . How about a little more quality control. A truck were you don't have to replace the shocks with less then 5ooo miles. And how about a new, modern automatic transmission, maybe go copy the one ford has, if they are to stupid to do it themselfs. After all this, then they can screew around with the 4 wheel steering.

I think if y-knot thinks he has such a bad ride he needs to go get a Ford. Obviously, the insurmountable problems of the Dodge/Cummins aren't worth the trouble, right? As far as 4 wheel steering goes, who needs the complexity and cost of such a system?

I love my comfortable seats and "true" quad cab in my 2003. Maybe you should upgrade. :)

Seriously though. . Somehow I doubt we'll see 4 wheel steering any time soon on the 2500/3500's. Maybe the 1500's to compete with GM. But the u-joint and ball-joint strength and life on a rear axle would be a real problem I think.

Somebody get y-knot some cheese to go with that whine!

Sorry but I love my Dodge with the Cummins. I think the post was something about 4 wheel steering not all the complaints about your Dodge;)

Off the subject: My brother in law who owns a 96 Ford PS drove my truck Saturday and I couldn't wipe the smile off his face. He kept commenting about the instant response my truck has. I think what he's missing is TORQUE!

My buddy is tradeing his 4-wheel steering danali in on a 2500 duramax (i'm working on him) He was told it's too light duty for the heavy duty trucks.

y-not ...

I have the last 3 seat styles & I still really like the seats in the 97' & I take 12 hr trips all the time with no back issues. It seams roomier than the 98's interior( to me anyway). The ford lariat I had is history same trip = sore back

to each his own

ps- I have a guy that keeps wanting to buy my 97' & I refuse to sell should he make you a offer

:) dj

Not at all, I too prefer the older (my 97') to any of the new generation. Dodge does not make a "true crew cab" so stop kidding yourself. The new truck really disappointed me, I was hopping for more. The seats were very uncomfortable, and the re-worked auto transmission was a poor attempt to solve an old problem. I was more then willing and able to by the new truck, just did not want it. I was not impressed, that is me, I still respect others and there opinions on the subject. And I am glade they choose the Cummins.

You're 100% right. They don't make a crew cab at all, the Dodge branding is "quad cab".

How big is this crew of yours anyway? 8 people? :) My truck can pack in 6 or fit 4 in comfort. Just like the other brands. I'm just glad that Dodge gave some thought to the new quad cab design. The Fords and GMs crews with the short box are unnecessarily long. A 4 door short bed on the same frame as a regular cab long bed is perfect for me. It sounds like you need a SUV.

I just don't understand the comments about the seats being uncomfortable. Maybe the Laramies are - I have no idea as I've never ridden in one. But the SLT seats are extremely comfortable. I can drive all day and feel great. Maybe people just don't have them adjusted correctly.

I initially thought my seats weren't very comfortable compared to my 93, but after spending a couple of 14 hour days in them I was surprised how good I felt at the end of the day.

My '03 Laramie seats feel great. WAY better than the '97 SLT I still own. The '97 seats feel like stiff boards in comparison.
