Which DTT VB and TC?

Bully Dog Hybrid Turbo

Can anyone tell me the best application/hp numbers suitable for this hybrid? Up to how many horsepower? Better on auto or manual? Would (if I got one) I need a wastegated or non wastegated? My current 35 is blocked since my Blue Chip FMS fools boost.

Thanks! Jeff, feel free to chime in!

Not sure about the turbo but I do know that if you want the turbo to last you will need a wastegate. Either internal or external will do though I suspect that the wastegated housing will not be enough for the Heavy fueled guys. However somebody may correct me on that.

Thanks,

I may as well get a 40 if I am going to upgrade, however the hybrid could be a cheaper way to jump up from the 35 to a 50/55 like yours :) when the other BOMBS come!

Hello Chipstien

Just wondering if you had any head work done to your rig to get that HP rating you have. Look at my sig. to see what I have and give me your opion what I need to do to get more out of my truck without doing any head modification. Have not Dyno yet due to clutch slipping in 4th and 5th but I feel that it is still lagging in the HP department. Thanks. Dallas...

Hey Nick! I say give HTT a shout and get er' done. Before turbo I would address your fuel pressure though, that FMS is good stuff but it cranks down your fp really bad!! You know the #'s my truck lays down, I think I am at the max of mine but it will make the perfect little turbo for twins! :D I run the 16 housing, back up in Colorado I had no overboost problems with stage 3 injectors and the FMS cranked, it stayed below 42-45psi which is at the limits per HTT. If you stay in Colorado I wouldnt be worried about running a non wastegated turbo, it's all in the right foot anyway ya know. Personally I think this is the only way to go for a mildly to mid bombed cummins at Colorado altitude. You can get the Stage 3 done by HTT Turbo (if you have the larger housing already) for $300 and have it turned around in 2 days.

Jeff,

Where did you get your housing from? Do you mean you did everything else through HTT except purchase your housing?

If your truck, Jeff, since it already has a hybrid, were to be run exactly the same, but with a PDR40 or similar 40, what would your truck be able to put down for numbers? Obviously the 40 will have a bit more lag, but what else?

Is there a reason you went to the 40/35 hybrid instead of going straight to the 40, besides price and a little less lag?

Thanks guys!

I bought a semi-new HX35 that had the 16 housing on it already and sent it to HTT Turbo that way. As for what would my truck do more with a PDR 40? That is speculation that I dont want to try and answer as I have no clue. I did the hybrid for the value and mostly for the curiousity factor, now many people running them but the idea made sense to me on the hybrid. 1 advantage of the hybrid is that if you go a turbo mount exhaust brake you can do that easily and second, you dont need any changes in a downpipe, that can be handy. I did see in the classifieds that Bob Wagner has some 14 housings for sale that seemed reasonable, HTT Turbo has them to.
