Have had a couple inquiries on the Dunlop "Mud Rover" tires, and since I just passed 40k miles (includes towing an 11k 5'er) figured I'd just post my satisfaction. .

The treads look like BFG Muds, but the rubber is harder, so they seem to last.

They bite great off-road, and handle off camber situations well without much side sliding.

They make less noise than some of the BFG's & other mud tires available, and drive as well as my BFG A/T's on the street, and handle the rain as well, or better.

Man I love these tires, and looks like I might get another 5k out of them, and will definitely get another set. .

No flats either, knock on wood.

The only negative I can say about these, is i think you lose about a mile per gallon because they dont roll as easy as A/T's. , and they are not as quiet as A/T's, but not objectionable IMO.

But for those times you find yourself off-road in a tough spot, they dont let you down.

Since there are several posts on tires out here, you might want to consider looking at them.

The price is ok too.

40k sounds pretty good for an MT.

I got 65k from the stock 265/75 MS Michelins.

only 35 k on the 315/75 Yokohama MT's.

55k on the 305/70 Nitto TGs, and they'd still go another 5k. but they're not as agressive.

Running on 265/75 AT Michelins now. A lot quieter on the road, but break loose too easy. May be for sale soon. Just bought a set of 285 swampers for fun.

40k...wow

only ever get 12k to 14k out of my cooper MT type tires... and that has been all three sets of them!!

Sweet. I have about 4000 miles on a new set of Mud Rovers. Was hopeing they last decent. However the real reason I bought them is because they were only 135 per tire for the 315 75 R 16. Thats 50 to 60 less then the BFG MT.

No, they are louder than BFG A/T's, also, they dont ride quite as smooth. But IMO the sound blends in with the motor when cruising the highway. Still hear the exhaust, and the motor purring, more than the tires.

Ive rec'd opinions from other riders, that the tires arent that loud. They sure bite alot better than the A/T's did.

Are these made as 17" or just 16"?

How loud are they?

Did you really lose a whole mpg?

I only seem to get low 20k out of the tires I've tried.

I've got BFG MT Km's and have a little over 40k on them and I'm hard on the go pedal from time to time.

The key to good milage out of a MT is rotation, I do mine about every 2,500 to 3,000 miles. I'll be buying a new set this summer and I will have about 2 1/2 years on this set. :)

33x12. 50x16. 5's buy the way.

took'em off @ 55k....

Probably coulda went a couple more rounds, a lot more if I just woulda rotated more often. They're only worn down to 6/32's most of the way across, but the center wear bar is disappearing.

Thought about keeping them around just to run in the dunes this summer, but I'll probably sell'em instead.
