Couldn't start my truck after work today, good solenoid movement, couldn't find primer button, I know where it is just couldn't find it then. I had about 2 gallons of spare fuel with me so I put it in and tried again, she stumbled then started. My gauge is not reading right for the last 2 months. Does 430 miles on a full tank sound possible?

I use to get 720miles per tank on the freeway, and 400 miles per tank while towing... . so yeah I would say 430 on a tank would be believable.

Yes, probably.

I get 550 out of a tank running in 4th gear only with 3. 54 gears and 265/75s (31") - about 18 mpg - so with your 4. 10, despite your 33" tires - probably.

Kalaehina, I have never been in the islands, but I imagine that all your driving must be city driving with no where to set the cruise. That would make it easy to consume a tank of fuel in 430 miles, IMHO.

My gauge does not work so I rely on the odometer only, and at 420 miles I had better be pulling into a fuel station or have a good set of walking shoes on. Averages out to about 14 miles to the gallon, probably would be better but with the cold winter idle time and my lead foot it does alright.

I agree I think I better be fueling at 400 miles from now on. I guess all that smoke makin experiments didn't help my fuel economy. Ronco, you're right, most of the driving here is stop and go, I only go straight driving for about 6 miles out of my 25 mile commute one way to work. Thanks for the input guys!

No time to do it myself. Dealer is gonna do it for a fairly cheap price I believe, and I'm only 20 with a limited budget and I still think its LOW! :-laf They are replacing the metal and rubber parts, (was gonna have them do the rubbe while they were in there anyways) but my part won't be here till late this evening. So it goes in first thing in the morning. Oo.

Hope your back on the road soon!

So do I, they were supposed to have my part in today, had my father call why I was at work... . they are *hoping* it will be in by lunch tomorrow! :rolleyes: :mad:

Okay, update! I topped off fuel yesterday, and the previous fill before that was topped off too. According to my calculations I was getting 16 mpgs, yet when I ran out of fuel 2 weeks ago it indicated I was only getting 12 mpgs. Or is it possible for the fuel pick up in the tank to be stuck up? Higher in the ttank so it can't pull fuel at a lower level?

Thanks Chris! :rolleyes: :p

Oh yeah still getting ****ty mileage :mad: filled up today, did some hand math and without corrections for 33's I only got 13. 25 MPG on my last tank. :mad: :mad: :mad:

Going to have my lift pump checked out tomorrow. Taking it extremely easy on this tank to see if there is any difference. :{

:eek: :eek: Okay right after last nights post, fuel gauge went south, literally, it's at empty and low light stays on all the time. Well going with filling by miles again for now.
