It's John's... and it's expensive! Guys, just a heads up, i deal in used vehicles quite a bit. When you mod your truck, you better expect to pay for it, and then not get it back when you sell. It would truly be a miracle if this guy found someone to buy his truck for that much.



There is a sucker out there for everyone though, ask your local dealer

Well, the John part is right... A local customer named John owns it. What he wants for it is his own call, but the truck is strong. It's got lots of power and low miles. Made 508 on the dyno last time here I believe.

I bet that thing could blow the doors off most small buildings... but a 2000 dodge with lets just say 50k, or even 60k is only going to bring 22k maybe like 24k if it was really cherry and had EVERYTHING. I checked the market report this morning. New 03's are sellin for like 28-30K with only 12k miles on em. Suffice to say a 2000 with some miles at 43K is a lot for someone to swallow, especially if they don't unerstand the mods done to it.



New trucks hurt the used truck market, wait till the 04's come out, my 02 will be worth peanuts! Low interests also hurt used sales, why buy used when new is just as cheap?



BUT, this truck has some serious work done too it, and if you wanted to do it yourself, you'd probably end up paying more... so there may just be a buyer that wants some real badness and has the jack to pay.

Sounds like a nice truck but I've got to wonder about a couple of things... . With as much money as it sounds like was put into this truck why on earth would you put on a cheesy steering wheel cover and use that awful clear plastic floor covering that we had in our '72 Winnebago instead of HuskyLiners? Those two things are very visible and smack of cheapness.



I know I'm being petty and callous but IMO it's a shame.

Man, that's not even a down payment on all the stuff I have on my Ram.



Although my Ram isn't quite as strong (448 BHP/1,018 lb. ft. torque) as the Ram that is for sale, I have MANY more one-off custom features... knowing full well I'd be in fantasy land asking anywhere near that much for my Ram!



... and white to boot!

I would normally agree with you but in this case the non-fitted carpet protector stuff looks like junk and would drive me nutty. The Husky liners aren't that expensive..... and actually help contain whatever you might spill or track into the vehicle.

Newsflash, you dont get to just add up your mod receipts and tack that onto the bluebook price. This guy needs to get his head out of the sky. He would be better off to sell the mods off the truck than try to sell the truck with them. Plus i deliberately avoid trucks that have been moded before i get to them. Its just not worth the risk.

Honestly, I don't think he really wants to get rid of it. It's been for sale for about a year, and he took possession of his 02 about then. The truck is paid for, so it's just a toy for him.

I used to have a neighbor who would have a realtor list his house for sale every summer at a price that was about twice the current value. We lived in the Santa Cruz, CA mountains. One time I asked him why when he knew the price was way too high. He said " I know it's probably never going to sell for that, but you never know. If some dumb Sumbtch comes along and gives it to me, I'm gone!". This went on for more than five years.



One year it sold. I asked him if he got his price and he said "Naw, this guy picked the house to pieces and convinced me that I'd never get that much. He talked me down almost a third". He'd sold his house for over $25,000 more than it was worth in the market at the time!

I know a guy that does similar things with real estate. Instead of listing stuff high, he offers on listings incredibly below what its worth. Every now and then he lands a killer deal, someone that REALLY needed to sell.

Hey, I like those cheesy steering wheel covers. My "ram tough" leather steering wheel split at the top, and for $12 buck I can cover it up. If anything, the dodge steering wheel is cheesy in that it doesn't hold up.



I do agree with you on the plastic though. I bought mine used, but when I order one (after I make my first million) I will get the rubber floor.
