Gotta love the ol water cooled models.

I dont know if speer still makes that bullet, but I have a few in the cabinet.

They feed fine out of my EAA and the Springfield armory.

I might just be lucky with the EAA, but the SA has spent quite some time in George Smith's capible hands, so I expect nothing less.

I wouldnt expect a "mil'spec" to feed it off the shelf though... ...

This day & age I'm not sure what costs more---the FA firearms or their food.

Well after doing a lot of research and looking at rules for hunting which is what I will do with it I found out In ND I can not use a . 45 auto because the case length is to short to hunt with. So after rehashing my options and talking to people and looking at ballistic charts... ... .....



I have decided on a 10mm. I am leaning towards a glock composite model 20 15 rounds. I looked at the Springfield Armory 10mm and the Kimbers and I think the Glock seems to be the best choice for me from what I gathered from several sources. But havn't completely ruled out the SA quite yet.



It looks to be a wicked piece from what I have heard from people who have them and used them for hunting.

Well, go ahead and rule out the Springfield. The Glocks are pretty much bullet and idiot proof. You really can't go wrong with a Glock, love 'em or hate 'em.

The Glock is a good piece, just very bulky.



If it fits your hand it's a great gun. No real complaints other than it's huge.



EAA Witness has a pretty good 10mm with decent capacity. It's a Tangfolio. Basically a CZ clone. Great guns.



The Glock is pretty much indestructible and if it fits your eye and hand, and feels comfortable to shoot, you can't really go wrong.



A Colt Delta Elite is nice, too... just kinda spendy for the good ones.

i would love to have one, but my S&W 1911 will do for now. I keep mine loaded with winchester rangers, sxt, formerly the black talons.

The G20 is a great gun. It's hard to find ammo that is loaded up to the potential of the 10mm and very expensive. Try handloading.

ive never been a fan of glocks but the local cops talked my into one. super reliable and what i feel is the best for the money. had an xd 45 and it gave me problems. i dont care for 1911's. like shooting them at the range and they can be a work of art if built right but i feel there are better options for carry. what you really need to do is shoot before you buy. might find a range that rents them out. the sig is something i really need to try.



ive fired a good 2k rounds through my HK and only one failure to feed and its because i had a silencer on it. recoil is minimal for a . 45 so controlled pairs are quicker for me. the main thing to do is buy the one that fits you right and shoot the hell out of it. ive run every type of ammo i can get ahold of through all my guns to see what works and what doesnt. also look at mag prices. glock mags are about 20 bucks where as my hk 12 rnd mags are 50 bucks. if you reload with lead stay away from polygonal rifling or by another barrel.

I have a 2003 model Springfield 1911 . 45 and I love it. My dad who has been in law enforcement for over 17 years trusts entrusts his life with a Springfield 1911 as well. I'm currently wanting to add a Sig . 45 and a '70 series Colt 1911 to my collection as well. I also like some of the late '90's model Kimber . 45's as well.

I have a MK-IV Series 70 Colt. I have modified it with a Novak rear sight, Pacmeyer grips, Beveled magazine well, a Wilson Solid Bushing, extended Target trigger and 8 Round magazines. I may install a better barrel, Ambidexterous safety and modify the front sight in the future. I really shoots well with Blue dot powder and Hornady 230 Grain XTP's. GregH



PS Ive owned and used this pistol for more than 30 years. I've abused it and modified it. It still takes a lickin' and keeps on a tickin'.

With ballistics very similar(almost identical) to 357 mag, recoil like a 22, and cycle rate 5 times faster than a 45 its very easy to take advantage of a multi target situation.
