If the 45/5500 trucks dont have all theh same emission requirements on them has anyone tried switch an ECU? Would the truck even run and would it real gain us anything. Just something to chew on:D

No chewing necessary, The ECM thats on the 3500/2500 pick-up is the same ECM thats on the 3500/4500/5500 cab chassis, It will bolt right up. The program is totally different from a 2500/3500 pick-up than a 3500,4500,5500 Cab/Chassis. The emission strategy is different on both models, the The cab/chassis models are set up @ 305 hp and the pick-up model is set up @ 350 hp. The fuel injectors are different in both models. If the ECM of a pick-up model is programed with a cab/chassis calibration (it has happened) you end up with a whole bunch of issues that are real difficult to fix.
