also i wouldn't say the d max is superior in the higher rpm range. the advantage they have is in the allison. never had a stick shift d max run even close to an auto with the same mods.

Why not?

shorter stroke (less parasitic drag and reciprocating weight), more valve area per displacement (this is a biggy), 2 more pistons (which again nets you more flow per rpm, improving volumetric efficiency at higher rpm),

I think all tend to improve higher rpm efficiency. .

Now you say the Allison is a benefit? Wow, last time I posted how good the Allison was I got so many nasty replies about how the mighty cummins only needs 4 gears and that the Allison was a turd.

the allison can be built to hold moderate power and perform very well. no one that has seen a built one can deny that. as for the stick shift, i don't know but they wont run with the autos that i have seen. that is comparing apples to apples in the mod area.

FORGET WHAT I SAID THE D MAXS WONT BE THAT HARD TO CATCH, ILL WORK HARD TO SEE TO THAT!!!!

Well I Didn't Have A Good Day At Sdx Had A Fuel Problem Ended Up 26th. 25th Till The Last Few Pullers. Got My Problem Fixed But Everyone Made It Back So I Couldn't Hook. I Talked To A Lot Of People Out There About My P Pumped Truck I Was Hoping To Talk To A Few Of The Guys On This Thread But Didn't See Any. Hoe Did Everyone Else Do?

So you are getting the rpm from the p-pump? I thought this was the CP-3 making that RPM. What a disappointment. :(

sorry to disappoint i never did say this was from a cp3. still working at it, it is coming. im just impatiant. i kind of like it though definitely hooks better and gets way better milage.

i had the hood up at the show and shine for a little while and during the evening pull at the start end of the track so people could look. it is really a nice looking conversion. i definitely have no regrets and soon wont have any check engine lights.

Ted,

Since no one else 'bit' I will -- what kind of mileage improvement have you seen?

And. . any other breaking news?

Thanks,

Mark

my truck was a 600 so the mileage sucked. but the miles that were put on it on the road if i drove nice averaged 21 to 22. this was still with a fairly laggy turbo. so it was a big jump on my truck. from 15 to 16 average to 20 plus.

i don't remember what site it was but i read somewhere that the cummins stock bottom end will basicaly self destruct at 5400 rpm
