I am getting ready to stuff my 5600 in, I have all the stuff I need, SBC Con OFE clutch, flywheel, drivelines, trans mount, etc. etc. My question is I have read somewhere you need a spacer for the starter or something like that??? Or is that on the older models?? :D

Thanks guys!!!!

Right! If you don't have the re-drilled flywheel already- get one from Quad 4x4 in Montana. (Maybe they get it from South Bend?). This is the setup I used when I did my swap in my '02- I have never been happier. Best upgrade ever! That re-drilled flywheel also has a huge pilot bearing in it- end of those problems forever. Highly recommend Quad 4x4 and South Bend- absolutely first rate products and service.

OK, so I don't have a 6 speed to put in yet (Supermod bought it), but lets just say I did. I have a South Bend DD in my 5 speed with the 1 3/8 input shaft, would I need to change anything or get anything drilled with the DD flywheel that comes with them?

Yeah, I got the converted flywheel, bought the whole set-up here on TDR. Not sure what pilot bearing it has in it, overseas at the moment, but if it doesn't have the good one in it, it will as soon as I get back!! Glad to hear it will work!! Tim, there's another 6er on eBay that needs a 6th gear syncro, looks like it will go fairly cheap, an you shouldn't have to completely disassemble it like I have to to fix it!! I found a bellhousing through dieseltrans.com for 300 clams. I think your clutch will work with the 6er just the way it is. I have to send my disc to Peter to get one with the 1-3/8 hole, he said he would swap it for free, gotta like that!!! Next is the RASP and the Don's 1. 6 sticks that are sitting on the bench, Thanks Olee!!!

Thanks for the info guys!!!! :D
