Off Roading How many miles on Swampers?

Competition Allright, who's been showing off in Phoenix?

Will this be able to fit in under a Dodge? Not that will ever do this but I'm just curious because Mickey Thompson is selling a 46 inch Baja claw now:--) , and there was a project in a 4 wheeler magazine that used a 46 inch military tire (Michelin I think), I saw a tire like this in person and OH MY GOODNESS, I don't understand how you can get that under any pick up that don't got the name Bigfoot or Gravedigger on the doors.

It would take a huge lift to fit that much tire. 4 Wheel and Offroad did it with only a 5" lift on that SuperDuty but they did extensive trimming of the fenders to fit them.

wonder what gear they ran with it ... .

HUMMMM don't think I could even get up into a rig that high. . LOL [not able to move around as well since my wreck]. . was about the most I could do to get in my CJ7 with 33" on a 4" lift

in military tires, you can get up to 52" tires, imagine that tire bill.

Also interco has one upped the Mickey Thompson tire with a 49 x 21 tire.

Morph;

You can get new 52" for around $300 each, less for used ones.

Check this place out... .

My Dream is a older Chevy K-30 Crewcab long bed with a 12 valve Cummins, either a 47RE or an Allison, 2. 5ton Rockwell axles and 52" Military Radials.

BIIIGGGGG TRUCK!!!!

 49 INCHES! Geez, a 4 plus foot tire! Hey Jeff, yah that's the Super Duty I saw in the magazine, hard to picture it until you see one of these beasts in person. Those Michelins are DOT approved in the USA and Australia, and the tire rim combo comes to about 300lbs, ah we definately don't want to get a flat all by our lonesomes with this combo.

Josiah, I'd think twice about ordering from USA6x6 from what I've read on other boards. Don't know if there is anything to it or not, but they've been give a bad rep for thier dealings. Now what I want to build is a Complete Rock buggy based on a CJ8 Body with the 5. 9 and 5speed, complete with 4 link suspension all around. 2 1/2 ton axles. Those 52" tires take 20" rims, the rims are about 250 bucks apiece and have custom built centers for the right axle bolt patterns.

Daniel (usa6x6) got slammed pretty good on www.pirate4x4.com. Supposedly he does not hold up his end of the agreement with other vendors and will steal other people ideas.

Here is the thread:

You can buy 53" Michelin military tires pretty cheap. I've seen lots of them and I have good friend that has lots of these tires cheap.

Pesonally, I don't think out ball joint Dana 60 front axle will hold up all that well if you were to take it offroad. Kingpin knuckle if preferred for strength.

I'm going to stick with my "small" 42" Super Swampers on my FJ40 Land Cruisers. No need to jack up may Cummins since I have a real offroad rig. .

edit: correctecd the link and added the url to the discussion on the pirate board.

Also, I've heard USA6x6 has been banned from www.pirate4x4.com

I talked to a couple of people and they said the same thing about USA6x6. I think you'd be better off buying from different vendor than USA6x6.

This is Daniel from USA6X6

As the owner of the company I am concerned about bad press we have recieved and deserved some of it...

About others lying about me I cannot stop that... but in time will show who is telling the truth.

In Fact we do have these tires and can sell them and we have and always will stand behind what we sell.

Thank you for your time...

If you have questions about anything please email me directly ...

I actually saw the BIG F@rd with the 46" Michelin's drive out in some mud and bury the thing right down to the axles. I guess big a$$ tire don't always help. :-laf

You can get some 46" or larger tires from Mike Shannon. Email him at -- email address removed --
