What would be the symptoms of bands that are out of adjustment? My transmission seems to down shift to slow. It also shifts 1st to 2nd at 8 MPH. Any advice would be helpful.

Need of band adjustment might not be evident by operation of transmission. If the bands were worn out or very loose, you would have slippage or no drive in low or reverse. If the front band were broken or worn out you would slip in second gear or kickdown. The 8 mph 1-2 shift at low throttle may be normal. I'm no expert so take my advice with a grain of salt. bg

I would sugest that you check the front band adjustment if you suspect its loose. Mine got pretty worn,I didnt realize it and it hammered on the band anchor enough to break it. The anchor fell into the kick down/gear select area on top of the valve body and left me stuck in gear.
