My 47RE has just turned 150,000 miles and has given me no problems. My engine is still stock. In the past I towed 7500 lbs 2 times a month on average. Just bought a 12,600 lb 5'ver and only towed it about 1500 miles. I use O/D when over 65 mph.

I change my fluid (only 6 qts) every year and change the filter every 50K. I did have it power flushed recently. I always try to ease off the go pedal during lockup and never lug it.

What are some of your auto transmission milage numbers of an auto with a stock fuel plate? If there is still anybody out there that runs stock. How long will it last.

My Ram was stock when I bought it used in '01. Had 139k on the ticker, and was pretty much a pavement princess. Didn't feel anything wierd when I test drove it, but as soon as I adjusted the valves and installed a POS K&N air filter, I could slip it if I wasn't carefuul. Managed to baby it enough to make it to 191k miles, barely. I started BOMBing the engine at around 150k miles, and needless to say, the transmission wasn't happy. Slid the plate and added the 191s after the new transmission went in.
