Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 47RE not upshifting. 1/4 mile

Drag raced my truck last night for the first time, 3 passes total , the first pass i forgot to lock it into 4wd but still managed 15. 44 it shifted late into overdrive like 40feet before finish.



Second pass launched hard stuck in 2nd gear(good thing i did valve springs with my 4k)for like3 seconds then shifted cut a 14. 38.



OK third pass i used my lockup(mystery switch) and same thing except i let off the gas and it upshifted, hit it again... . downshift, so i let off again it finally upshifted cut a 14. 25 IM so fusterated i know im in the 13s so chime in, and thank you in advance.

Sounds like your pressures are off in the trans or TV cable mis-adjusted. maybe get it into a reputable shop that does High HP diesel transmissions.

when i had to let off the trottle to get it to shift on my 97 it was the govenor silinoid. i had to replace it 3 times. it ended up that it keep shorting out because the 7 wire( i belive its 7) plug ontop of the trans had freid and all of the wire could touch each other. also to look at the tv cable get a freind and have him push the peddle to the floor while your underneath feeling the slack on the tv cable. you should hav about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of slack i belive.

ya from all my searches ive found its the gov pressure solonoid im going to clean it this weekend while im under there ill check my wires and re-adjust my tv cable thanks Casey

Issue resolved with tps cleaning and a 3/8 gap of tz cable adjustment.
