Need some advice.

I have a 2001 2500 auto 4x4 with 410 gears Banks Power Pack and 315 tires. I put the Banks kit on my truck at 72000 miles before I left Seattle on my way to Huntsville. It immediately stressed my LP and I had to replace it a few hours after driving my truck. Now my transmission is slipping. I have 81000 miles on the truck. I have towed some in the past but nothing like some of readers do in here. My first question, is this normal for the stock transmission to start doing this at 80k? My second question, can I just replace the converter now or is it too late? If it is too late what transmission would you recommend? Lastly does any one know of a good shop in Northern Alabama to get their truck worked on? Sorry about all the questions but I am in a real quandary here as I do not want to trade off my truck for a newer one. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I hate this 47retransmission. Mine went out at 50k miles & I did not tow heavy. I made a mistake & let the dealer Reno Dodge rebuild it for me- that was before I joined TDR. If I had already been with TDR I would have known to put a performance transmission & TC in for a little more than the $2900 I paid. But the biggest factor would have been reliability & performance from then on! Now I'm stuck with worrying whether this one will go out in another 50k miles.

From the reading on this sight, I would have narrowed it down to DTT or ATS.

Call Bill at 1-866-504-4002. See sig for my choice. He will offer advice to all of your questions and more. Most any aftermarket transmission will perform far better than the stock DC transmission. Or you can goto www.dieseltrans.com

I recently talked to both DTT and ATS about local shops. For you, I think, DTT's closest is in Sieverville, TN (Eastern TN) and ATS has an approved installer in Rainbow City, AL. The Sieverville shop does engine work as well as transmissions from what I hear.

(I'll be in Madison for the summer, staying with family, working at Huntsville Hospital)
