My '01. 5 CTD with 156,000 miles is having a little trouble shifting when cold. When truck is stone cold it will not shift from 3rd to 4th until you have driven 5+ miles. If after . 5 mile you take your foot off the skinny stick and then return to the previous position it will shift right up. When the truck has been off for a while and it has cooled to under 140 it will do close to the same thing but it will shift ok once you have gone 1 mile or so.
When the truck is warm, 190F, it is still slow to shift from 3rd to 4th. It just hesitates, tach will stop going up, mph stops going up, it waits about 3-4 sec and then shifts.
Ok so my questions is when I change my trans oil here in a few miles I am planing to changeing the transducer and gov pressure solenoid. Should I change anything else? Do you think this will help my problem or do I need to do something else. If anyone in the central Ohio area has a set of gauges I would like to see what the pressures are doing inside this thing. I do have a Factory Service Manual so I know what it is supposed to be.
