Yea, I know what you mean. I haven't owned an automatic truck in a while, but my wife is wanting another one. i personally don't think they will ever build an auto to stand up to pulling heavy loads every day. I've had from stock to $7000 units and I never feel safe working one hard, no matter how many ugrades are done. The 6 speed is my pick, but the wife has to have an auto. I've tortured some 6 speeds and never had any trouble. Just trying to decide what model to get her. I know where a few 2003 the 47s in them are for sale, but i think I want the 48 and ho motor. The truck will only have maybe a tst/ez and a turbo. it will be built for towing instead of the track. I really like my setup on my 05 6 speed. It pulls like a beast. I actually got in a little race the other day with a buddy of mine. He was in a new Chevy HHR and I was pulling about 15k. I saw him try to pass me and when he got to my tailget I floored it and pulled about a truck length on him, then my clutch gave out and he passed me. But he had to go through some heavy smoke there for a minute :-laf . But it really surprised me that I was actually out running him with that load. If i can get the auto to pull that good and stay together, i'll be happy.
