First I would like to go ahead and admit my lack of knowledge concerning automatic transmissions. Yesterday when driving my 94 47RH automatic truck It first seemed to make a sort of grinding noise only occasionally while I was slowing down. Then when I pulled into the parking lot where I was going to park and went to shift into reverse it only growled like it wasn't falling into gear. So I loade it up and hauled it back to our shop. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what might be causing this. This is the first time I have had any trouble with it. Also when I shut the truck off and then restart it while in park I can go down into reverse without any problem, but if I go to drive and then try to go back to reverse the truck once again begins to grind. Occasionally know also when I shift to park it does not seem like it falls into park as it will still roll. I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it so any help would be appreciated. I don't understand why it works sometimes and not the rest of the time. Thanks.
