96 3500 dually 4x4 v8 diesel conversion???

stock Dodge alternator on 95 CTD

I was wondering how exactly does the 47RH get Lockup/OD commands from the 6BT in the dodge trucks and is there a way to using the factory commands into my 94 Chevy K5 Blazer 6. 5TD to 6BT/47RH Swap??

Thanks, Tim

Basicly, the computer senses ground speed, throttle and temp to tell the trans to lock up.

The trans always has 12 volts to it. The OD and lock up happen when the correct wire gets grounded by the computer.

Yep, there is one wire from the pcm that goes to the push button momentary switch on the shifter lever that makes a ground turning the o/d on/off. The light on the Dodge instrument panel is luminated by the pcm through the Cummins CAN BUS system. You will NOT however be able to utilize the light on your conversion (unless you're going to use the Dodge instrument panel).

You WILL need the PCM along with the ECM from the Dodge donor truck for the transmission to work. There is one wire you will need to use (orange with white tracer) to use with a momentary switch to make a ground.

The PCM uses the transmission speed sensor to do all of this.

May I suggest you purchase the Dodge service manual from Geno's garage, as it's worth EVERY bit of 85 dollars you will spend on it. Priceless for wiring diagrams.
