Ok I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me. I have a 95 dodge with newly rebuilt transmission with a Trans-go shift kit (Standard not race) and a Goerands Brothers triple disc converter. Today I blew one of the junk stock pushlock oil cooler lines out of the transmission, along with most of the transmission fluid. Instead of going through dodge and getting the upgraded fittings and lines, I can build them for half the cost at my hose shop. So here is what I need to know:

How do I use the resistor in place of the transmission temp sensor that is in the original cooler lines (it needs to work in cold temps)? I plan on not using it.

Also, I have to come to almost a complete stop for the transmission to kick down into first. I have adjusted to TV cable and it does not seem to tight, any ideas? Throttle control on the valve body?

Also, does anyone know if there is a bushing that the throttle spring rides on on the TPS housing? My spring slides all over the shaft and I don't believe it is supposed to? Also part number if anyone knows?

I appreciate any input!

Thanks,

Bill

FAHLGUY,

I feel your pain! I did the same thing in February on a cold day! I too replaced the factory line with a hydraulic hose all the way to the first trans. cooler. However, I had a machine shop build me a manifold to house both the factory sending unit and the sending unit for a trans. gauge. Now I have a six inch long hose coming out of the trans. to an aluminum manifold with both sending units and then another hose into the cooler under the exhaust manifold. I like the setup.

When I went without the factory trans sending unit, I went to a local electronics supplier and bought a five pack of 680 OHM resisters. I doubled over the leg of the resistor and pushed it up into the leads going to the sending unit. Then I wrapped the resistor in electric tape to seal it and keep in place.

The third question I can't help with, sorry.

The TPS is "considered" to be a sealed unit. Some here have used a Dremel to open one up to clean it. But for the most part, it's sealed. If your TPS feels sloppy, something inside may have come apart and you may be headed for trouble.

I hope I have helped more than hurt here.

I used a 1kohm resistor with the ends doubled over and inserted into the factory connector. So far works great. Put a autometer gauge int he factory hole.

I need to replace my factory line connections too.

The low speed shift business can be changed by an adjustment on the valve body. I don't have a picture of it handy. If I can find it I will post it tomorrow.
