Hi, guys, first post in a long time.

I did a search for the band adjustment procedures, but didn't find anything. I will be servicing the transmission with filter, gasket and new oil. I plan on using the standard oil as my truck is stock with no mods. I would like to set the band torques while I'm in there.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm sure it's here somewhere, but just not finding it.

Another thing,,,,,,I don't want any "oil wars" started up!

Thanks

Thank you,

Got the filter kit and a set of shocks ordered from geno's,,,,so when the weather gets a bit dryer, I'll be up to my elbows in it!

Thanks again Scooter.

I did a VB and and had to adjust the bands in the end. Got the VB from Dave Goerend, He is the best. I have talked to him on the phone four or five times, about the transmission, there is no better customer service and help. The band adjustment is on the driver side just above the shift lever. It is a 3/4 " locknut and 40mm torx screw, hold the screw and loosen the nut almost all the way off. Then count the number of turns in until it is tight against the case. It should be sdjusted to: Two and one quarter out and tighten the lock screwto the case.

Should that be a T-40 torx screw? 40mm seems a little large.

Guy's, I downloaded the manual, and the information there is as follows.

Loosen locknuts 4 to 5 turns, front and rear, tighten adjusting screws to 72 in lbs front and rear, back off front adjusting screw 1 3/4 turns, tighten locknut to 25 ft lbs, back off rear adjusting screw 3 turns, tighten locknut to 25 ft lbs.

Ok, so that's what I'm going to do, seems there might be some confusion with this procedure and or specs.

Now all I have to do is replace the T 40 bit my neighbor broke on his Harley, nice how that works isn't it?

Got the Bilstein's from Geno's now, so the heat is on to get them installed!! Darn work is getting in the way though,,,,,,priorities, what's a guy to do?
