Is any one else experiencing a strange feel in their throttle pedal when accelerating from a stop. It seems to happen as the transmission is shifting from 1-2 under light acceleration. Under moderate or heavy acceleration you don't feel it. It's difficult to describe... almost like a buzzing sound you feel in your foot. Just wondering if this is normal or if anyone has had it fixed.

I have felt the exact same feel in mine just as I begin to depress the pedal. I have noticed it a few times as I begin backing out of the garage. I have about 2500 miles on mine now. I have also noticed it as I started accelerating forward. It seems like it is only noticable occasionally under light acceleration.

I have about 3500 miles on mine and I feel it occasionally. Super inconsistent. Doesn't seem like a big deal, just kind of weird.

Just joined TDR and this was one of the things I was hoping to find info on.

What is 48RE? This is my first full sized diesel/truck. Learning the lingo. ;)

You say "4 spd auto" we say "48 RE" :)

4 spd auto and 48RE are related how? Newbie sees no logical relationship captain!

Chrysler numbering convention for automatic transmissions:

4 - Number of forward gears

8 - Relative strength. Ranges from 2 to 8 (currently). Higher=stronger

R - Rear-wheel drive

E - Electronic controls

My pedal does that too.

Very wierd. Kind of a studder on the pedal, but performance isn't comprimised. I'm not sure what it is. I won't bother asking the dealer, as they couldn't duplicate the sensation the way they "test drive" a truck.

Until it causes a problem, I'll just enjoy the slight foot massage. :)

Mine does the same thing under light throttle. My biggest problem is the way it shifts back and forth between 1st and 2nd under light exceleration. Or after you slow down for a turn the transmission will hesitate for a second before downshifting and then shift back up right away. Other than the strange shifting I love the truck.
