48re 3rd gear?

Anyone know or have comment on why we can only lock 1st and 2nd on the shift selector? Seems it would be very usefull to be able to self select 3rd and hold? Thanks, Doc

Try pushing the Tow/Haul button in the end of the shifter.



It locks out overdrive, which is what you (and a lot of others) call "4th gear".

This is how I see it ; 1=first only // 2=secound & tc lock-up // D= third & overdrive. Placing the right logic on the tc lock-up feed wire may allow you to get where you want to be. I would like to build a device that would allow a 1)constant off mode, 2)normal mode 3)constant on mode with a low speed override to release the signal for a less than ____ mph,but anytime in first gear would suffice. This is all doable (except the low speed release),with common materials. BTW , someone chime in and help with the logic of factory shifts,I may be off somewhere !
