We have just finished in house testing of our 47RE / 48RE Hybrid Valve Body. We are needing testers who either tow large loads 10K + , or have upgraded engines and turbos. We are looking for a total of 10 testers for this. Please PM if you are interested. So here is the skinny.

We have succesfully mated 47RE and 48RE components to make a 4748RE VB. The valve body has been designed to increase pressure in direct relation to throttle pressure input. Lockup holding is increased massively, shifts are quick yet smooth. The VB is a great upgrade along with a multiple element converter. It does circulate lube oil in park. It is a really nice VB. Install time is minimal. The VB can be used in all Dodge Rams w\ either the 47RE or 48RE. The valve body was designed and tested on our computerized VBT 4000, all solenoids and sensors are checked on our computerized digital SOL-X tester. For more info please PM me, I will post pics as soon as my web guy gets back in the office. We were happy with the way we had engineered our 47RE units to hold 500+ RWHP, but we have always felt that the 48RE has been a problem. Not that it is not strong, but shift feel and lockup apply were too harsh. This VB solves the problems that we had. This gives us and Cummins owners another approach to upgrading the 48RE.

So are you saying with this VB upgrade there is no need to upgrade the TC or clutches or things of that nature? You can safely pull 10k with HP upgrades with out worrying about toasting the transmission?

No, an upgraded trans is required if going beyond stock power levels. This VB would be installed in a Stage III unit. We are simply asking for beta testers to test for shift feel, lockup feel, and various other driveability comments and concerns. The VB can be used w\ a stock converter, single disc billet or 3 or 4 disc billet converters.

hey koopdaddy i am the owner of a six speed but i would be intersted in testing the missing downpipe that seems still to be lost in shipping from your company hope to here from you soon tony lewis

what benefit would there be over say an ats vb?or gorends?dtt?suncoast?

what are your idle line pressures and wot pressures and are your vb adjustable?

I don't know how their testing turned out but I don't think putting a 48 VB into a 47 is anything new. From what I know it is a very nice upgrade over what could be done to the 47 VB's.

Hrmm, I have not heard that. Does that mean for mild mods a TC may be all thats needed in a 48?

I'd be interested if my truck doesn't get bought back by Chrysler. Been into dealer 4 times due to no torque converter lockup, they replaced torque converter and pump, no change, I think its the solenoid in VB as its intermittent.

Tow 11,500 travel trailer and plan to modify truck when trans works right or truck is replaced 9600 miles now
