48RE Burp? / Not a 48 but a 47
I was pulling a light load (4000lbs) up a grade, truck downshifted into drive and was pulling at 2900 rpms for 2 to 3 minutes, somewhere around 60 -65 ish. Then suddenly the truck seemed to downshift again and the rpms jumped up past 4000. I let off and it shifted back into drive but I lost alot of my speed.
Something similar happened driving with no load. I was at 95mph trying to see what it will do and traffic was ahead so I tapped the brakes and the truck down shifted to 2nd and rpms went up past 4000 for a brief amount of time 3 seconds roughly.
Both times I had the accelerator floored.
I talked to a service guy he said this truck wont let you red line.
I was in there for that transmission valve recall.
Now that this has happened again I am going to take it in.
