48RE Converter Going Away.. Which Replacement???

I've been thinking of investing in a diagnostic scan tool anyway... Been inquiring with my local Mac and Matco dealers. Really want one that will work on my truck and my wife's 07 Jeep GC. After having just spent $300 for some minor troubleshooting and an Air Bag lockout switch on my son's pickup... . It wouldn't take too many trips to the dealer to pay for itself.

I gotta get some time off work to get with a fried that owns a trans. shop. Let him look over what I'm wanting done and see if he wants in on it. . After speaking with Dave @ Goerend, unless something drastic happens, it will be their parts going in it.

GColeman, Are you running the stock VB? If not, who's VB are you running. Do you tow with your truck?

I stayed with the stock valve body and have had no problems. Once or twice a month, I tow either a 10 ft. utility trailer only carrying about 4000 pounds or an 18 ft. car carrier at about 10,000 pounds.



When I did the converter, I was low on cash and didn't opt. for the valve body. I think the right way to do the job is to change out the valve body when doing the converter. For me, it has worked out very well as is. Good Luck Wingate.
