48RE fact or fiction?

The wife & I took a couple 03's for a test ride. Like the HO, but not the 6 speed.



Two different dealers said they could NOT order the HO with Auto. It is NOT in any of their books. The only info they have is sales literature that it is SuPpOsE to be out in Jan 2003. One doesn't think Dodge will introduce the 48RE (is this just a sales ploy to sell any truck?)



Anyone have real input from Dodge? I hate to wait 3 months only to find out there is no such transmission or Dodge decides to postpone the introduction indefinitely??

The 48RE will indeed be built with the first production units available for order sometime in January. They will be doing a "pilot build" at the St. Louis North assembly plant with the 48RE either in late December or early January.
