Does anyone have the torque specs on the trans filter for a 48RE? I am installing a Mag Hytec Double Deep trans pan and need to know the torque specs for the screws holding the filter spacer to the valve body, and the torque specs for the filter to filter spacer. Also, do any of you use any Locktite or other thread compound on any of these screws?

Not a scientific answer, but also went with a MH pan and I just used a similar amount of torque used for removal on the install. No locktite on there in the first place, so I didn't add any. 4k and no worries.

Torque relates to bolt size. If you apply too much pressure you can and will stretch the bolt over it's limit and cause a crack or break. Check the maintenance manual for torque application to bolt size.

Technically speaking, I believe the correct torque relates to more than just bolt size... like grade and thread of bolt, material receiving bolt, application, etc.

Practically speaking, common sense should tell how to get in the ball park. ;)
