48re Pto

Is there a way to run PTO on the 48RE? Is it like the allisons where all you have to do is add a gear and cover?

No there is no provision for a PTO. What transfer case do you have? The 241hd have a provision for it. What do you want with the PTO. There are many alternate methods to drive equipment available depending on the use.

I don't know what model you have either. I was thinking about the Realpower set up too. When I checked it out they were installing a set on a truck just like mine. The cost was 5000+. And they would not sell it as a kit, you had to have one of their installers do the job. There is one here in SoCal. The price seems awful high.

You can buy a PTO for under 200 and a 10kw belt drive generator for around 620. Depending uppon your use of the generator you could probably install an hydraulic pump on the engine and use it to drive a generator.

you have a NP 271 if it is manual, and a 273 if it is electric.
