4BT Engine mounts with AC

By extending the Alternator bracket you can use a serpentine belt from a 94 Dodge Cummins

Sounds like a fun project. That 4bt should make the Scout a great machine.

The only problem I see in that instalation is a) the alternator only have 25% of belt track if you whant 200 amp alternator would need 50% and b) is the position of AC compresor like to me but interfiere with the mount base.



Congratulation for the job look very nice due to the dificult it is due to this side you have starter, turbo, and filter that interfiere with this alternator and AC compresor. Another alternative is use 6BT adapter for compresor but again interfiere need to add a flange to ac Compresor to move it over, I make it this way and work even with the 200 amp alternator on a RV that need a lot of power

Yes I agree that the amount of belt wrap for the alternator is less than desirable. Right now it's only a 60 amp, but I'd like to up it to at least 120 amp and that might cause it to slip, don't know. But I have another set up that uses the Dodge fan, alternator, belt tensioner along with my custom AC mounts. I'll post pics of that soon.

Steve did the 8 groove pulley and the ac compressor come seperate? I am trying to cross reference the sanden part number and can't find it anywhere. Is this the part number for a 6BT Dodge?

Looks like Sanden doesn't make this model anymore. Went to their site and found the products and I don't see my model there either. That may or may not be a complete listing. Looks like there going away from the direct mount and making more of the flange mount. Looks like there are 5 model with the 8 grove pully, this one, model 4711 is closest to the one I have, but in flange mount.

No the one I have is not a Dodge part.

Oh yea, forget to mention, the AC is blowing 40 F! I have some tidying up to do under the dash and put the grill back on, but the AC is working fine.

A/C Mounts

You don't happen to make those A/C mounts to sell to other people do you? I really like that Idea. I have a current set of mounts but was trying to figure out how to mount up the a/c. My 4bt is going into a camaro.

I wouldn't mind building a set, but just don't have the spare time to build some new ones but, I've got the first set I made If you don't care what they look like. The stand offs for the AC will need to be cut off and rewelded on in the correct location. I would let you have these real cheap.
