Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 4BT motor

Has anybody tried working with a 4BT motor or put one in a small pick-up. I would was wondering
what kind of HP and torque you could get from one with a little effort . Maybe put one in a Dakota
pick-up. If anybody has any info on the 4BT I would be interested in hearing about it.

I have two in my boat. 150HP with rotary pump. They have marine ones with inline pumps and intercoolers rated to 250 HP, that burn down number 4 due to latch of cooling issues. Idling one or the other is not to bad, but idling both is ruff. It is like they should have been either a few inches closer or farther apart. #ad


Like the B5.9 they have been very reliable. 2400 hours on them. They are not light! Chris
