I put this here because I believe the ps pump on this Cummins 4BT is the same as these. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I just bought a really cool 1948 Ford F1 rat rod with a 4BT in it. The guy did a great job on the whole truck generally but there was this issue with the power steering line blown off.
He said the line blew off and I should get a better line. I looked at the line. Brand new Summit HP line. The end blew off the pump fitting. I cleaned up the stainless steel braiding with a fresh cut and re-installed the line into the AN fitting. All went together tight. Drove the truck around the neighborhood ... power steering working. But not perfect. Some tightness here and there. Then it quits altogether. Line is still intact.
The pump drives a Ford 1988 T-Bird power steering rack.
The reservoir tank on this pump had been removed and modified. A power steering pump on the vacuum pump stack interferes with the P7100 pump so the spout area was cut and re-welded for clearance.
Here is where the questions come in. I removed the tank from the pump. There are two regular bolts and then there is the big fitting with the line fitting. I removed the two bolts and the big fitting.
I found this video online where this guy does the mod and when he takes the tank apart, there are more parts than in my pump. Looks like another part and a big spring when he removes the big tank fitting.
So either my guy didn't put all of the parts back or there are variations in this pump.
This is my question.... are there parts missing in my pump tank assy?
Here is my pump and the big fitting. No other parts were part of this big fitting.
Here is the video starting where the guy takes his apart with the spring and another part.

Am I missing parts?
Thanks all.... Oh here's the truck...
