Hey all, co workers kid has a '14 1500 and is having bad water leaks along the top door/ cab area, suspecting the rubber strips that run fore/ aft. His interior is getting soaked. Looking for links and advice/ TSBs etc for him. He's a good kid,( asst. volly fire chief and dispatcher). He's fed up and looking to abandon the brand.
Anyone else seeing similar issues?

If you suspect the rubber strip(s) on the roof, tape them off with wide masking tape and see if it makes a difference. You have to tape the full length in case the truck is parked up or down when it leaks. Brake light is more common.

take the 3rd brake light out an use a nice bead of clear silicone around the perimeter. mine leaked, but I haven't had an issue in 5 years after the silicone

If it's got a sunroof, that's a pretty common place for them to get water in. My dealer said they have replaced several for water leaking.

I heard a week ago that the kids truck was fixed. With Matthew bringing us the most rain in 6 months, I guess this will be the real test. But I heard they did something with the seams under the fore/ aft black strips, as sag mentioned.

Thanks for the tips!

Some 2016 Rams were made without the rubber seal on the edge of the sunroof glass. I know they replaced the glass if the customer complained of leakage.
