4in downpipe

just bought a 51" Nelson muffler today for my 03. I would like to use the stock 4" tailpipe and just change the downpipe to the muffler to 4". Can you guys recommend a supplier that I can just get the pipe from the turbo to the muff?

When I made my turbo/downpipe chages I bought just the downpie and a short length of pipe from Rip @ Source automotive. Very cool guy. Source Automotive link

Well, I didn't give you guys very long to give me advice. I just bought the system from Rip minus the muffler and muffler delete pipe. I've seen enough good things about Rip to be confident I'll like what I get.

some of us have also put on the cast elbow from an 04. 5-05 model truck with is a true 4 inch outlet, then buy the 04. 5-05 factory downpipe



That will net you a true 4 inch system, and no 3. 5 inch neck on the turbo

I like the sound of changing the cast elbow, maybe I should have waited huh? How much of difference would there be between the 3. 5" elbow and the 4" elbow performance wise? If it will make a big difference I may go that route. Don't know what I'd do with the Rip downpipe though.

I think the performance would be hard to notice but I liked the idea of 4" all the way so when I did mine I got the PacBrake from the 04. 5 and up which has the larger cast elbow. It's the same size wise as the newer cast elbow.

just ask for Rip to exchange the 03 DP for a 04. 5-05 model year Downpipe



And the cast elbow can be found from many people that install pac-brakes, BUT it can also be bought direct from our parts dept. (and other dodge dealers) for about $36. 62 - FWIW

If Rip didn't get it in the mail today he'll swap you the downpipe but you orderd around 3pm PDT so I suspect he got it out. Might be worth calling though... .
