Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 4k gsk's?

does anyone recommend using the 4k governor spring kit. a friend of mine has a 96 4x4 auto with a #5 tst plate and 330 injectors. he also has a pdr40 turbo. could he have any engine damage using these springs or any other problems. his transmission is built so that is not an issue

I have had the 4k set-up on mine for a number of years and am very happy with the way they work. I have a 5 speed with the big gaps between shifts and the higher rpm makes it nice on the grades when towing. Of course it is fun empty also Oo. Just make sure you up grade the valve springs and have enough air at the higher revs to keep it cool.

how does the bottom end of the engine take this? how bout fuel milage?

it'll take longer to get into the fuel... you can adjust the lever arm up to compensate some... don't go over ~3500 w/ the stock valve springs, and you'll be fine. fuel consumption shouldn't be effected if you drive it exactly the same.
