4th gear lock up. Loud noise under hood.

My truck is a 97 4x4 #5tst plate-16cm turbo housing-4" exhaust-Psycotti air. Auto trans w/DunnRite converter-Trans Go shift kit. When going into 4th gear lock up and I have any pressure on the throttle I get this very loud bang. It sounds like It's comeing from the air box,or a pop off valve is going off. Any one have any Ideas? #ad

Hey Man,
That is the waste gate wasten away your air. If your engine aint sucking it up, it has to go somewhere. You will notice that at that same time your engine rpm drops, it aint taken air, so bang, it goes out the waste gate.
