Hi guys,
About a month ago my 2001 Ram 2500 w/ 140000 mi on it started randomly slipping out of O/D anywhere between 50 and 65 mph, both when towing or not towing. Coming to a stop and then proceeding to accelerate , it remained in a higher gear. I could not reproduce problem consistently. If I shut things down / Started up again, it could be fine for hundreds of miles, or 5 miles. No codes thrown.
I had the TPS and speed sensor changed after doing the research. Also read up on issues w/ alternator interference. Moved the alt wire to across the radiator, also added a new ground wire from PCM directly to neg batt terminal.

I thought I had it fixed- then yesterday it acted up again. So I shutdown/restarted like usual. THIS TIME it went into limp mode. Shutdown/start right up again did not clear it.

transmission has been rebuilt once, about 10 years ago.
What else is there to check? Seems like a hard failure now.
To recap:
Changed TPS, OSS.
Moved alt ground.

What else is in transmission electrical loop? Solenoid? PCM? What other ground wires are there?

I hate throwing parts at something without a reason.
To make my dilemma worse, I AM SUPPOSED TO DRIVE FROM NY TO OREGON W/MY CAMPER IN TOW ON MONDAY, APR 1 TO START A NEW JOB.
Not gonna happen w/ this.
Any wisdom would be appreciated. Thank you!
