I see that the new 2500 have 18" rims on them. Can the new 18" rims bolt on to a 3rd gen 2500 without wheel well clearance problems? Is the bolt pattern the same?

No, they are taller.

The 18's come stock with 275/70R18 which rolls at 627 rev/mile vs the 658 for 265/70R17. Which is a 5% difference, or the equivalent of 3.55's and 265/70R17.

Is the hub hole smaller? Why no good with a free spin kit?

Yes it is. There is no longer a snap on center cap, just a small circle that snaps in at the end. You could easily have 2 wheels machined for hubs, but then you can't rotate tires.

You could machine all 4 wheels, but it would look like any wheel without a center cap.

I asked this question because I looked at the 2014 Ram 2500 and it seemed to me that the offset of the rim was different. Looked like the chrome clad rim was flatter and the center cap was shallower. Has any one had the chance to measure or test fit the new rim on the 3rd gen truck? Is the hub a problem for the 2wd trucks?
