Just noticed this morning on my late 02 (no CAD) that the 4wd light is glowing, not fully on. When I pull the t-case lever into 4wd the light comes on full strength, and when I put it back in 2wd, it goes to about half power. I also turned the truck off then back on and the light is still glowing. I haven't checked codes yet, that's next foe me. Any ideas out there??

Thanks in advance,

Matt

I believe that the 4wd swtich is in the fork/vacuum housing on the front right axle it mite not be disconnecting all the way.

Another possibility is if you put in shorter batteries (optima) the battery hold down screw on drivers side can go into wiring harness under neath battery tray.

guess I could betcha a dollar it is the vacuum connection on the axle :D

Just pop it on there tight again and the light will go out and stay out when switching from 4wd to 2wd ... and don't ask how I know :-laf

Try disconnecting the switch at the transfer case (no CAD) and see if the light goes out. If it does that should eliminate a wiring or cluster issue and just be a faulty 4wd switch on the transfer case.
