Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 4wd light

before I dig into this, where is the switch at, transfer case or linkage?

Mine has gone from intermittent to AWOL (Always With Out Light).



Probably an easy fix

It's on top of the transfer case. It gets a vacuum signal through a tube that t's into the vacuum line under the cowel in front of the driver. There is also a vacuum line running to the front axel. If any of those lines come undone your light goes out along with the 4wd.

I have the solid axle, no disconnect.

I wonder what will be different. The light wasn;t, but I had 4x4.
