I have a 03 dually, ho, 6 spd, 4wd. I was going up a steep ramp that was covered with snow. The rear tires were spinning and the pass front was spinning. The driver side front looked like it wanted to spin but did not. I was in a spot were i could not get a running start.

Bert's rite, mine does the same thing. It may also set a code if three wheels are spinning and one isn't. Seems the computer doesnt think that makes sense for some reason.

i think this is the same problem i was having when playing in the snow eh... it was making the service brake indicator light come on [the one between the tach/speedo, above water-in-fuel & heater grid lights]

i still haven't checked for codes though...

Don't feel bad though, most people think 4 wheel drive actually means 4 wheel drive.

In the snow and especially the ice you want it that way though. You wouldn't like driving my Jeep on that in 4 wheel drive with a Detroit Locker in front and a spool in back.

Hey, I love driving my Detroit locked Jeep in the snow/ice! It turns so well! I mean, once you mash the gas and spin it around!! :p Hey, who needs to turn anyways? Just drive over that car in your way! :D
