Just wondering, passed a 3500 4x4 on the interstate the other day and it looked to be about 2 inches higher than my 2500 4x4 on a level road. Was wondering if the 3500 4x4s come from the factory with a taller suspension up front? This 3500 4x4 also looked level, as compared to my 2500 4x4 that has a nose-down look. I know from experience that I'd rather have the nose-down look when it comes to hauling a load, as the load levels out the suspension, but this 3500 4x4 looked really good, and taller, apparently empty.

I've heard of leveling kits, but this 3500 looked factory new.

Thanks

I did not notice any difference in height between my '96 2500 4x4 and my '98 3500 4x4 (6x6). It may have been that you were comparing to a truck that had been lifted. I just got in the body deminsion book from DC at home. If you want what DC says I will gice it a look for you.

I think the 2500s are slightly taller - in fact I think I remember reading that the 2500 4x4 Ram is the tallest stock truck out there. The 2500 comes with 265 tires on it while the 3500 has 245s, I believe.

The 2000 up 3500's come with 238/85's. They are about the same height as the 265's. My dually before the leveling kit did sit about the same height in the front as the 2500, but taller in the rear.

My friend has the same truck as me, except for minor options, and the other day while running side by side, his looked a little taller. They sit at the same height, so in my case it's an optical illusion. Maybe the same in your case. A guy I work with has a 3500 and he has the same front springs on his truck as mine.

I agree with Hillcountry.

My old man has a '97 2500, which is exactly the same heigth as my '94 (I have measured from side mirror to floor). Sitting in my truck, his looks taller and vica versa. I also think it is an optical illusion.

Thanks for the replies, yeah this truck was flame red like mine, which is what caught my eye, saw it on I-20 just west of Shreveport. I think you're right too about the optical illusion, when its that close its hard to tell.

thanks again
