1st time using post, 2001 qcab my 4x4 light on dash board stays

on when driving down the road, its off untill truck is moving 5 mph.

Unhooked wiring from air switch on front axel, light goes off, I

think that the air switch in stuck with axels ingaged. The transfer

case is working, you can tell the front hooks up.

please help!

Can you install manual hubs on these trucks

Welcome to the TDR!

Yes you can install manual hubs but it is really expensive. Dynatrack makes 3 different kits starting at about $1,800.

If it's cold by you, it is probably ice in the vacuum line or the actuator. It could also be a leaking line or one may have gotten pulled off.

Try following the vacuum lines from the axle to the t-case and see if you can find anything. It could also be a bad switch at the t-case but I haven't heard of that happening before.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Extreme1's advice is right on. If your light is on 99% of the time it's because the front axle is still locked. This usually seems to happen when the truck is new. It's a good idea to shift into 4WD at least once a month to keep things moving. You've still got warranty, use it. Probably a vacuum problem.

thanks for the suggestions, I took a 500 watt portable light and set it under the axel lock system for about 3hours. then took the truck for a test run, shifted from 4x4 to 2 wheel the light went on & off as supposed to.

must have had some moisture in lines or ( ? plunger )

seems to be working fine, thanks for the replys any others welcome, may be something still wrong
